Some Peanut Butter Unsafe for Dogs
Did you know that not all peanut butter is safe for dogs? While most peanut butter brands are harmless for dogs, some contain xylitol, which can be deadly to dogs. Xylitol is an artificial sweetener that is beneficial for people with diabetes; however, it can cause a rapid drop in blood sugar, diarrhea, seizures, liver failure, and even death in dogs. Be on the lookout for ingredients containing “XYL,” a synonym for xylitol. Peanut butter brands that likely contain xylitol include Go Nuts, Co., Krush Nutrition, Nuts’ N More, P28 Foods, and No Cow (formerly D’s Naturals).
